- PT. Bantar Jaya is one company that is engaged in the distribution, which is located in District of Sukun, the Municipality of Malang. The distribution of LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) starts from the base closest to the agent, so that the route taken each vehicle has not noticed the distance between the bases, which resulted into a far distance and the total time in a single trip into the old and contributes to the high cost of transportation. The problem solving can use matrix saving method by considering the number and capacity of conveyance. The main objective of of this research is to determine the distribution of LPG 3 kg to minimize transportation costs. The procedure begins with a matrix method of saving the data collection amount and conveyance capacity, the demand of each base, and the area of distribution. Further processing of data begins from the distance matrix calculation, matrix calculation savings, vehicle allocation bases or carriers, the determination of the distribution and transportation cost calculation. Matrix obtained with the method saving a total savings of 188.3 km mileage. Total transportation costs Rp 334,642 / day. Thus a decline in the total mileage of 51.16%, and the total cost of transportation of 49.00%.
