This research was conducted with the aim at knowing the effectiveness of application Model Cooperative type Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) in learning relation and function materials in X IPS SMA Tamansiswa Malang. The approach used in this research was qualitative approach by means descriptive research. The subject of this research was teacher who teach mathematics in X IPS class namely the researcher himself and the 30 X IPS students of SMA Tamansiswa Malang. The objective of this research was the application of Model Cooperative type Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) which was seen from the teacher’s activity data, students activity, and thoroughness students in learning relation and function materials. The instrument used teacher’s activity sheet and a test to know the thoroughness students in learning. The analysis used in this research was presentation analysis, which used to measure student’s activity, teacher’s activity, and the thoroughness students in learning. This research obtained the teacher’s success activity in first meeting was 80,4% categorized good. The second meeting obtained 89% categorized good, the third meeting showed the increasing presentation from first meeting to second meeting which got 98.2% categorized good. And obtained the success presentation of students activity in the first meeting 77.2% categorized good. The second meeting gained 79.2% categorized good; there was an increasing amount from first meeting. The third meeting showed an increasing amount from first to second as big as 93.7% categorized good. And 25 students individual thoroughness in learning classical in relation and function materials was 83.3% categorized complete based on the criteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) depdiknas. Based on the description above, teacher’s activity categorized very good, students activity categorized good, and the thoroughness students in learning by means of individual in spite of classical could be said completed. In conclusion, Model Cooperative type Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) in learning relation and function materials in X IPS SMA Tamansiswa Malang can be concluded that effective.
