  • The role of transport and distribution are very important for the company because through these activities the company can meet the needs of consumers. Contribution of transport costs in the company's distribution system reaches 1/3 to 2/3 of the total cost of distribution. Therefore, the efficiency is indispensable to reduce the operational costs of distribution companies. One solution to improve efficiency is to arrange the delivery schedule and the optimal delivery route so as to minimize the time, distance and cost. PT. Sumber Jaya LPG is a business unit engaged in the distribution of LPG gas cylinders measuring 3 kg. Distributors often have constraints on the delivery scheduling process, this is because the number of requests for each different agent. During the distributor did not consider whether the route mileage has been minimal or not so fuel costs incurred is not necessarily minimal. Scheduling delivery done by when orders come from customers. So that the problem can be solved by using a model of Periodic Vehicle Routing Problem (PVRP) to approach first-route second cluster by grouping the agents to visit using optimization methods. The final solution will produce a schedule and the total cost of the transport vehicle with the most minimum. The results of the determination of the schedule and route of these studies provide a total transportation cost of Rp. 3,258,346.71 per week. In other words, many cost savings of Rp. 995,360.83 / week or saving of 23.39% per week of the start-up costs to be incurred.
