  • Students' ability in solving mathematical problems related to integer arithmetic operations lies within the students themselves , while variable from outside just a verbal instruction that help or guide students in mathematics to help solve problems themselves . Therefore, the learning process of mathematics learning model which requires a more direct students to the day-to- day life . Learning mathematics realistic starting point on contextual issues , emphasizing skills " process of doing mathematics " , discuss and collaborate , argue with classmates so they can find the problem and in the end they use mathematics to solve problems both individually and collectively . The purpose of this study , to determine how the implementation of realistic mathematics education of teachers and students and to find out the results of mathematical problem-solving ability of students of class VII SMP Muhammadiyah Dau . The research approach used in this study is a qualitative approach , and type of research is a descriptive study . From the results, it can be concluded that the implementation of realistic mathematics education , includes several activities including : ( 1 ) initial activity ( preliminary ) , (2 ) the core activities consist of : forming a group , division worksheets , discussion , presented the results of the discussion and discuss the difficult in understand together , (3 ) weekend activities ( cover ) . Also based on the analysis of problem-solving ability , it appears that the use of realistic mathematics education can enhance the problem solving class seventh grade students SMP Muhammadiyah 06 dau
