- Social adjustment is an important thing in adolescent life, since they have to fix themselves with environment. While social adjustment term means someone s succeed efforts in adjusting to someone else in general and to the group in special ways. Doing good social adjustment is not easy, many condition could cause difficulties for individual in doing good social adjustment. One of them is parents divorce. That s why the research was done to find out social adjustment to adolescent whose parents divorced. The research was qualitative research aimed to describe social adjustment to adolescent whose parents divorced. Subject used were two adolescents whose parents divorced. Data collection method used interview, data validity was done by source triangulation. The research showed that both subjects had different social adjustment. From the factors, behavior pattern in home, model, or idolizing figure to be imitated, motivation to arrange relation with someone else, personal satisfaction. Subject I had good social adjustment, could be seen from lack of obstacle in social adjustment factors. All factors run well. While subject II had improper social adjustment. It was proven from various obstacles in applying social adjustment. One of them the subject lack of attachment and care from parents, lost a father figure in her life. Beside, subject had lack of self-worth while making relations with friends and had trauma when making relations with the opposite sex, where she was afraid to be like her parents.
