  • The mathematics problem solving skill is one thing that need to be considered because problem solving is one of the purpose that must be mastered after learn mathematics. Fact stated that mathematics learning nowadays not given exercise about problem solving but train student to answer the question, so the mastery and comprehension of student toward problem solving are ignored. One of the ways to identified student problem solving skill is using problem solving steps according to Polya. Polya problem solving steps consist of four steps, that are comprehend the problem, arrange the plan, implement the plan, and revise. The purpose of this study is to know how the ability of mathematics problem solving in Elementary School according to Polya steps. The research design of this research are descriptive qualitative. The subject of this research are the problem solving ability of all VI grade 26 student of MI Yaspuri that consist of 10 female students and 16 male students. The data collection is using valid and reliable test and interview. The result of overall study show that based on ability test of problem solving at each step of problem solving in first step about comprehend the problem in a good category, second steps about arrange the plan in good category, third steps about implement the plan in enough category, percentage gained and the last steps about revise according to the interview result is there is no student that use revise.
