PERBAIKAN POSISI KERJA DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE OWAS (OVAKO WORK POSTURE ANALYSIS SYSTEM) UNTUK AKTIVITAS MANUAL MATERIAL HANDLING (Studi Kasus pada UD. MTR)

- UD. MTR is a small industry that produced paving. Some activity of production process was done by human power, such as lifting, carrying, boosting, and pull up activity. By the result in distributing Nordic body map questionnaire to the worker, showed that the worker felt pain in musculoskeletal part as an effect of manual material handling (MMH). The aim of this research is to identify work position that could causes an uncomfortable of worker and give an advised in improvement of work method in making process of paving at UD. MTR. Collecting data was done with field study, interview, and documentation of worker to get data of work position that include of back, arms, and legs for carried out of data cultivation with Ovako Work Posture Analysis System (OWAS) and got the output of work posture calssification (action categories). From two of work process that was observed that is process of raw material mixing, and moulding process, there was 15 work position that was identified. From the result of analyzed, was got 2 work position that included in first category which means safe for the musculoskeletal system that is mean no need to make an improvement. 6 work position of second category which means dangerous for musculoskeletal system, and need an improvement in the future. 4 work position of third category, which means dangerous for musculoskeletal system, and need an improvement as soon as possible, and 3 work position of fourth category, which means dangerous for musculoskeletal system, and need an improvement right now. After made an improvement for the 3 and 4 category, there was a decreased number of worker that felt pain in left shoulder, right shoulder, hip back, right thigh, and left calf, 25% pain in the back and waist back, and 50% pain in the right calf .
