- The research is a development research. In this research, there will be managed a module with learning cycle – 5E to Pythagoras theorem material for students at grade VIII SMP/Mts. The research purpose is describing about how the Pythagoras theorem modul development by learning cycle-5E and explaining the module test result. Next, module application by learning cycle-5E model expected to make students easier to understand the material learned. Procedure used to develop module based on module development procedure according to Ditjen PMPTK Depdiknas (2008). Module development phases, are (1) module needs analysis, (2) module management, (3) validation, (4) test, and (5) revision. Validation module involved 2 lectures Math Education, Faculty of Education and Teacher Training University of Muhammadiyah Malang and 2 math teachers of SMP Negeri 2 Junior High School of Beji. Then the module test involved 11 students of grade VII SMP Negeri 2 Junior High School of Beji. Development received is Pythagoras theorem module with learning cycle-5E which has been validated and re-tested to students. According to validation, total average score of all aspect is 2,6 while from calculation of students questionnaire, average score for all indicators is 2,33. According to validity criteria, score found in criteria valid. It shows that module developed in valid criteria with some revisioned part. While from 11 students, there is 9 students who received score above the minimum criteria or can be said 82% of students are able to understand module well. So, revised module can be used in Math learning, especially Pythagoras theorem.
