  • Commonly schools nowadays still use lecture and discussion method where discussion method used for group activity in solving a problem, while lecture can be only monotone in teacher without any activity or tought exchanging among students. From interview and observation, it can be found students grade. In fact, students in SMP Muhammadiyah 06 Junior High School of Dau Malang still not learning together in a group. It caused math grade of students are still under the minimum completeness criteria. One of learning model developed and assured to increase activity and completeness process of teaching and learning in class is cooperative learning NHT (Numbered Head Together) type. NHT (Numbered Head Together) is a learning model focused on students activity in searching managing, and reporting information from various sources which is represented in front of class. As the problem reported, approach used is qualitative descriptive. Data type in this research is primary and secondary data in this research, where there is math teacher and students of grade VIIIA SMP Muhammadiyah 06 Junior High School of Dau Malang. Data collection method used is test, interview and documentation. Data which is analyzed consisted of students learning completeness test result. Result from this research is application of cooperative learning model NHT (Numbered Head Together) type successful or effective to be applied to students of SMP Muhammadiyah 06 Junior high school of Dau Malang grade VIII A semester II year 2011/2012. Application in first meeting, students less active in discussion in small group or big group, so students learning completeness according to final test from 30 students found the complete students are 90% and incomplete students are 10%, while in second meeting, students started to actively involved in discussion whether in small group or big group, so students completeness increased for 93.3% and students which is incomplete reached 6,6%. keywords: cooperative learning, learning completeness result
