- Mathematics model of learning Missouri Project (MMP) is a model of effective learning in learning-oriented learning Active, Creative, Effective and Fun (Active Learning). Mathematics model of learning with the Missouri Project (MMP)) is one of the first scientific study on the relationship between behavior and learning of mathematics student teachers (Good &Grouws, 1979), the Douglas A Grouws this study is one of the Professor of Mathematics Education at the University of Missouri-Columbia . In this scientific study Good and Grouws (1979) five features include instruction in mathematical models of the Fifth step is commonly known as Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP). This study has the objective to, (1) describe the application of models Missouri Mathematic Project (MMP) in mathematics learning in the subject line tangent circles in SMP Negeri 1 Turen, (2) Knowing the activities of students and the activities of teachers in the learning of mathematics through the application of models Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) to the students of SMP Negeri 1 Turen, (3) Knowing the results of learning in the learning of mathematics through the application of models Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP ) to the students of SMP Negeri 1 Turen. The approach used is a quantitative approach and qualitative approach, with the type research is descriptive. The research was conducted in SMP Negeri 1 Turen on February 23 to March 1, 2012. Based on these results we can conclude (1) The application of the model Mathematics Missouri Project (MMP) in SMP Negeri 1 Turen particular class VIII-I, namely the five-stage model of learning to apply Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) was among the five stages, (a) Review / introduction, (b) development, (c) the exercise of control, (d) seat work, and (e) closing / delivery Homework assignment (PR), in all stages of this implementation has been done from the beginning to the final stage. (2) The activities of student through the application of models Missouri mathematics Project (MMP) have increased from meeting I through meeting III where the presentation of student activities at the confluence of I is 66.7%, II meeting of 80%, up to 90% meeting III. And the activities of teachers at meeting I 86,7 %, II meeting 93,3 %, and meeting III 95%, (3) Results of student learning in problem solving on the material classified as either tangent to the circle in the classical style, with a percentage of 79.41%
