- Teaching learning is an information process done by student. Logical reasoning and problem solving ability are two element that can’t be separated in mathematics. Teaching learning using problem solving is an instrument in learning mathematics while logical reasoning is an ability in solving problem that include process of thinking to make a conclusion or a new statement as predicted before. MNR (Matematika Nalaria Realistik) is a new teaching learning model in mathematics. The basic concept of MNR model emphasizes more on logical reasoning ability of student through problem solving questions by using environment around as the media so that teaching learning process is more effective. To employ MNR model, this research is focused on the material of division of fractionin fifth grade elementary school of Muhammadiyah 9 ‘Panglima Sudirman Malang. The result of this research shows that the student can comprehend better about the concept of division of fraction while the teaching learning process. The student become more active learners in the cognitive and psychometric aspect. So that, the teaching learning becomes more enjoying and more effective.
