This research purposes to describe Mathematics teaching and learning process through MURDER collaborative model on the material tangent of circle include student? and teacher?s activities. Besides, this research also describes students? ability to problem solving pattern in the material tangent of circle. This research was conducted in March 2010 on the even semester in academic year 2010/ 2011 for class VIII-H SMP Negeri 12 Malang with 39 students. The instruments were observation sheet, test, and students? interview sheet. Data collection technique was done by doing the observation, giving test, and interviewing the students. According to the result of this research, it can be concluded that teaching and learning process with MURDER collaborative model to the material tangent of circle.conducted by 6 steps, they are mood, understanding, recall, digest, expand, and review. The result of this research also shows that teaching and learning process run better. It shows that students? activities achieve percentage 73, 73% and teacher?s activities achieve 80,41 %. It can be categorized as good. Besides, students? ability to problem solving pattern shows that not all of the students could do all the phases of mathematics problem solving. 32 students could do phase of question comprehension (see) and solution planning (plan). Then 34 students could do the phase of planning action (do). And 26 students could do reviewing phase correctly (check).
