  • Depiction of flow nature in driver bend is the first step in determining problem solving for erosion that occurred to riverbed. In line to developing of software, mathematics model is often being a choice as a tool for getting behavior that occurs. So, beside because of its cheap cost this model also includes the long dimension of space and time. Surface Water Modeling System is one program to solve mathematic model that be made based on water motion concept and sediment motion in which mathematically is solved by using finite element method by two horizontal dimensions approach. By its many superiority, this model is hoped can give satisfactory result so can improve performance of approach method which is often used. The object of this research is Brantas river, in front of GKB Campus three of Malang Muhamadiyah University, Malang regency, East Java that is have worried problem caused of riverbed erosion. From the analysis result toward the erosion shows that flow speed is so big by including n grade Manning = 0,030, gotten the high speed result namely Maximum = 0,310 m/second and Minimum = 0,110 m/second exceeding critical speed D50 namely 0,045 m/second while crib installation result is gotten maximum speed result namely = 0,45m/second and minimum is = 0,001 m/second under critical speed D50.
