- Public transport passengers in the city of Balikpapan is commonly called public transportation or public transportation is one of the means of transport used to serve the activities of the people of Balikpapan. However, the current urban transport of passengers decreased because more people use motorcycles. Acceptance rates are a major factor in the management of public transport revenue passengers. Where these rates are influenced by the VOC components always changing according to economic conditions. This research was conducted in the city of Balikpapan to take public transport route No. 3 or so-called public transportation, from the Terminal Batu Ampar to the Port of Semayang. Based on the survey results obtained in field operating costs incurred public transport entrepreneurs is Rp 70,966,121 veh / yr or USD 2369.71 veh / km. Based Mayors, public passenger transport fares in the city of Balikpapan is Rp 4.000,00 for general passenger and Rp 2.000,00 for student passenger. When referring to the actual passenger rates are obtained for general passengers Rp 3.300,-/pass/rit and fares for student passengers Rp 1.700, -/pass/rit. While analysis of the passengers rate of 70%, obtained in Zone 1 fare for public passenger Rp 2.600,-/pass/rit and fares for student passengers Rp 1.300,-/pass/rit. In Zone 2 is also available for public passenger fare of Rp 2,600,-/pass/rit and fares for student passengers Rp 1.300,-/pass/rit. And in Zone 3 fares available for public passenger Rp 1.700,-/pass/rit and fares for student passengers Rp 900,-/pass/rit. So when passengers from Terminal Batu Ampar – Port of Semayang the rates obtained for general passengers Rp 6.900,-/pass/rit, while the rates for student passengers Rp 3.500,-/pass/rit.
