- Floods caused by overflowing of the River Kaligunting triggered flooding in several places. This study is conduct to determine the capacity of Kaligunting River on the existing conditions to accommodate specific design flood discharge. Planned flood reduction efforts using cross-river improvement or normalization and design of levee. Flow profile analyzed using the program package of HEC-RAS 4.0. Flood prevention is done not only to overcome the annual flooding but also to overcome of 10-years design flood that agree with standard criteria for river improvement planning. If the cross section river improvement (normalization) is not enough to overcome the 10-years design flood, than the levee is conducted. To find out dimensions of the planned levee safety, it would require a calculation of slope stability. In this study the levee slope stability calculated using Geoslope Student Version program. With the flood prevention efforts of design levee as high as water depth + freeboard, 1:1 slope. The results of running the program HEC-RAS 4.0 showed that the Cenranae River capable to accommodate 10-years flood discharge.
