- Development of science and technology (science and technology) very rapidly, especially in the field of information. Learning math is directed to a destination for students to enable mathematics as a mode of communication, ways of thinking, and problem-solving tool. SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Malang, especially the class VIII A, the teacher is still learning to use conventional, while the students are only able to hear and record what is presented so that classroom teachers become passive. Researchers try to apply the learning strategies of Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP), which consists of 5 stages, namely a review, concept development, cooperative work, independent work, and assignments. This research aims to improve the activity and the results of mathematics learning and based on the description above, the purpose of this study is to describe the application of learning strategies Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) for increased activity and results of studying mathematics at the eighth grade A material Circle SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Malang. This study used a qualitative approach to the subject of research type of PTK is class VIII A, amounting to 27 students. The data used were qualitative data containing results of observation, interviews, and results of field notes. While the quantitative data containing results of the final test cycle. Data collection method used in this study were: 1) test, 2) interviews, 3) observation, 4) field notes. The results last test cycle I value the class average 70.37%, 58.52 percentage of completeness, so that learning in the first cycle is said to have not completed the final test results because students cycle I have not reached the percentage of completeness. From the result of of reflection on the cycle I need to hold action on the second cycle . The final test cycle II class average value is 81.67 with a percentage of 88.89% mastery learning, learning in cycle II declared complete. From the result of of reflection on the second cycle students already understand the material circle . Based on exposure data concluded the application of learning strategies Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) can increase the activity and students' class VIII A Junior High School 1 Malang, especially on the material of the circle.
