- Tabalong District located in South Kalimantan province based on BPS data Tabalong district in 2010 has a population of 77,021 inhabitants, the area is 614.16 km2. If the views of the population, the District Tabalong still relatively small town. However, the handling and management of waste matter greatly to consider along with the city and the population growth rate is increasing. Increasing population Tabalong district resulted in increasing the volume of waste that impact on the capacity and lifetime of the landfill capacity Masukau and lack of wastewater treatment landfill leachate in Masukau. It required a sewage treatment plant on the landfill leachate to prevent groundwater contamination by leachate. From the analysis obtained that Tabalong district in 2032 has a population of 341.830 inhabitants and projection of waste appeared is 46.028,382 m3/year From the analysis also obtained discharge leachate generated by the landfill Masukau 0,001412 m3 or 122,026 m3/day. Leachate treatment plant consists of several ponds, such as: stabilization ponds (36x10x4) m3, aeration pond (10x10x4) m3, and the last are maturation pond and sanitary pond (6x10x4) m3.
