- Weaknesses in the implementation of Tank Models are so many parameters whose assessed must be previously fixed manually or by trial end error method before the model was applied. This condition causes Tank Models considered not efficient to solve practical problems. This research is an attempt to improve the performance of the combined tank models so it can be applied more effectively, especially for the analysis transformation of rainfall data into river flow data. The analysis is focused on solving systems of equations on Combined Tank Models by using genetic algorithms to optimize the parameter, so that the result of equation system can determine the appropriate model parameters on a watershed study. Combined Tank Model is a system of 4 tanks in series and parallel, and has 24 parameters.. On 400 maximum generation value is obtained root mean square error (RMSE) of 0.12631 m3/sector Lekso Catchment Area and 0,1242m3/sec. for Wonorejo Catchment area. Results of research on the Lekso Catchment Area and Wonorejo catchment area show that Combined Tank Models that on based Genetic Algorithm can present the relationships good climate data and debit data that near to the real condition.
