  • Construction of roads in Indonesia are mostly using this type of flexible pavement, salahsatunya the asphalt concrete layer (Laston). Coarse aggregate material such as gravel is a natural resource which over time will run out and can not be renewed, the problem is who will look for alternatives. Alternative material used slag coarse aggregate (limbahpadat). Slag is the result of combustion residues tanurtinggi, produced by the steel smelting industry. This study uses coarse aggregate production of steel mill waste (slag) as a replacement for coarse aggregate gravel used as aggregate in the mix Laston. By using the Marshall test method is expected to use a steel plant production waste (slag) as an alternative to gravel coarse aggregate gives rise to the characteristic value of quality campuranlapis marshall on asphalt concrete (Laston). The results of this study, there is a change in the mix of quality increases the value Laston Stability, Marshall Quotient, Flow, Air Void. Unknown value Aspalt Optimum Levels (OBC) for each aggregate gravel and slag coarse aggregate alternative is 5.9% and 5.5%. For OBC value 5.5%, is mixed with slag coarse aggregate, a score is 1033.6 kg Marshall Stability, Marshall Quotient 2.9 Kn / mm, Marshall Air Voids 4.97%, and film thickness 5.65 μm.
