  • This research aims to study the appropriate medium for germination and various cultivars of mango cultivar germplasm. the research was conducted at the experiment station Faculty of Agriculture-Animal Husbandry University of Muhammadiyah Malang. This research is the factorial experiments which prepared using random design group and repeated twice. where the first factor are 2 kinds of media and the second factor are 20 mango cultivars. The results showed that there was no interaction between treatment and planting medium mango cultivars at germination and growth parameters of seedlings. The media’s treatment shows the influence on all parameters of germination and growth of seedlings, except on the number of embryos, and internodes length. Media land + compost (M2) gave a germinating faster, while media land + manure (M1) giving the highest value on high plants, stem diameter, number of leaves, leaf length and width, as well as on the long shoots . Treatment of the cultivars showed the influence of the number of embryos with the highest value on high tabher seed, cultivars with the highest value on the branches, the number of cultivars Timbo leaves with the highest value on Bahdar Khandi cultivars, and the length of the internode cultivars with the highest value on the Bahdar Khandi . The value of variability showed a low value on all the characters be observed, except on the number of the embryo worth of medium and long internode 10 mst worth very high while the heritabilitas value indicates the value that diverse from a low value on the character width of seeds and leaves 10mst, worth being on character of seed germination, high seed 10 mst, diameter of the stem long narrow leaves 10 mst, long shoots 10 mst, high thick seeds, and valueless the nymber of the embryo, number of leaves 10 mst and internode length 10 mst.
