  • A Tomato is one horticultural commodities of high economic value and still requires serious attention, especially in terms of improving outcome and quality of fruit. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of concentration and time of giving IAA on the growth and yield of tomato plants. Research carried out at the farm, located in the Dusun of Dermo, Desa Mulyoagung, Kec. Dau, Kab. Malang. The study was conducted in August 2012 to November 2012. This research used a factorial randomized block design consisting of two factorial is concentration of IAA (D) and time of giving IAA (U). Of the two factors combined to obtain 20 combinations, from each treatment consisted of 4 groups and each group contained 4 plants sampled. Observations made include: plant height (cm), number of leaves, stem diameter (cm), number of branches, number of flowers, number of fruits, fruit weight (g) and amount of fruit harvest The results of observational data show interactions on growth and yield of tomato plants. Interactions that occur due to IAA influence on cell enlargement (increase in size) and cell division (increase in amount) on tomato plants. Good age for giving IAA on tomato plants is at 7 week old tomato plants after planting with a concentration of 20 ppm or IAA at 8 week old tomato plants after planting with a concentration of 25 ppm IAA.
