  • As the most strategic agricultural commodities, rice still get the priority concern foremost in agricultural development activities in Indonesia. More than 80 percent of Indonesia's population depends on rice staple food needs. If the rice needs in 2005 is equivalent to 52.8 million tonnes of paddy, the rice needs in 2015 is projected to reach 65.9 million tonnes of paddy (CBS, 2012). To increased productivity of a total area harvested about 13.2 million ha of rice increased productivity required of 4.98 t / ha in 2011 and to 5.21 t / ha in 2015. East Java is one of the national rice production centers which had land area of 1.9 million hectares of rice fields with productivity 5.1 t / ha (Diperta East Java, 2011). While Malang regency is one of the suppliers of rice in East Java that still need improved productivity. The research was conducted at the Green House Garden Experiments UMM Faculty of Agriculture-Animal Husbandry in the village of Tegal Gondo, Karang Ploso District, Malang regency. The altitude of area is 550 m from sea level, with a daily average temperature between 25-32o C. The research was conducted in February 2012 - June 2012. The research method was used is randomized block design with one factor that consists of 4 levels. The treatment levels are as follows: Types of Decomposers (D); D0: Without Decomposers (control), D1: 10 ml / l, D2: 20 ml / l and D3: 30 ml / l. The decomposers’ dose significantly affect plant height of rice at 40 DAS, rice seedlings at 80 DAS, number of leaves and leaf area of rice crop at 70 and 80 DAS significantly affect the amount of grain fill, 1000 grain weight and grain Weight Dry Milling.
