The objectives of this study was to identify the effect of primary branch pruning on plant growth and yield of Jatropha (Jatropha curcas L.) on second year. The experiment was conducted in the Jorongan District, Leces-Probolinggo, which applying Ribbed Plots Design (RPB) with three replications and 6 samples in each crossing number. The numbers are 2, 4, 5, 7, 18 and 37 which had one year old. The growth parameters were observed once a month, while the yield parameters were observed within 10 days interval, except for the dry weight of 100 seeds parameter was observed only once at the end of the harvest. Time results show that the interaction between the primary branch pruning and the number of cross no significant effect, but the effect of each factor is significant. Primary branch pruning parameters significantly effect on the number of secondary branch, the diameter of the primary branch, plant height and leaf number, while the number of cross have significant effect on the primary branch diameter, height and number of primary branch. The best treatment of the pruning factor is the primary branch pruning and cross-best numbers are 5, 18 and 37.
