  • This study was focused on the readability level of reading texts. In this case, readability means how much of the idea and language were presenting an extended reading text which was comprehended by the reader. The purpose of this study was to describe the readability level of reading texts in “Linked to the world” textbook published by Yudhistira used for the eleventh grade students of Social program of Senior High School based on Flesch reding ease formula. In this study, the describtive study was applied because this study described the readability level of textbook. It means that what would be described inthis study was the condition that exits at the time of investigation. The object was the whole reading texts (14 units of reading texts) in “Linked to the World” textbook. Based on the result of Flesch reading ease score, it would be described that on ly 1 unit (7.1 %) of reading texts was categorized as a standard style. There were 2 units (14.3%) were categorized as easy style, 3 units (21.4%) were categorized as fairly easy style, 4 units (28.6%) were categorized as fairly difficult style, 3 units (21.4%) were categorized as difficult style, and 1 unit (7.1%) was categorized as very difficult styled. In general, it could be concluded that the readability level of reading texts in “Linked to the World” textbook used for the eleventh students of Social program of Senior High School had various style descriptions. However, the average readability level of the reading texts was fairly difficult.
