  • The earthquake and tsunami in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam year ago leaving the suffering and psychological disturbance at the victim, especially for children. Some children are able to adjust itself and go back to normal, these are to have resilience in her. However, not a few of them are not resilient. Resilience in children is needed, so they are strong in the face and through a traumatic event. If the child victims of the earthquake and tsunami did not have the resilience to him, will bring many problems to himself and people around him. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The subjects in this study were two children aged between 2-13 years and were victims of the earthquake and tsunami survivors. The study was conducted in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam for 20 days, as of 1 December 2005 - December 20, 2005. As for data collection in this research is method of interview. Analysis of the data in this study through the stages of data reduction, data display, make decisions and verification. After the second earthquake and tsunami research subjects experiencing post traumatic stress, which many make the subject of environmental changes which impacted on the subjects themselves. This study describes the subject kertika resilience to face the changes and trauma caused by the earthquake and tsunami. Both these subjects are equally experienced adrift in the water when the tsunami hit, are equally capable of coping with stress and trauma within a month with trying to be patient, steadfast, equally gain understanding and support from family, it's just that its capacity different. However, from both research subjects only one subject that resilient people. As for who makes the subject to be resilient are the subject has most of the characteristics of resilience. In addition, factors affecting resilient are the subject of attention, affection and support from parents.
