- In Gorontalo, dominance of women within the family or household is a very reasonable thing viewed from the culture, it is also not considered taboo. They (the husbands) do not feel oppressed or persecuted, everything was normal, and they also feel mediocre, however, become very pathetic condition when the woman or wife who has been in place at a higher position but still perform well against violence Men's or her husband. The purpose of this study is to investigate the causes of violence in the husband, the husband's violence, the violence on the husband, and the reason why the husband stay in the marriage, although experiencing violence This research is qualitative research, because researchers do not make a special treatment of the subject, and purpose of the study was not to make a generalization of the existing problems in the study. Research sites in North City District, Gorontalo (North Sulawesi), the number of subjects as many as three husbands initials HS, RH, and YF. The data collection method in this study, researchers used the interview or interviews and observation (as support), and documentation in the form of field notes. While analysis of data used case study data analysis. Then the researchers will examine the validity of existing data using triangulation technique, which is a technique that utilizes the data validity checking something else out that data for checking purposes or for comparison against data obtained from research subjects. In this study, the authors find the causes of violence, namely: the existence of past experience wife who experienced violence from someone more powerful, keingginan to master the business, inability to control the change of status, habit spoiled by the husband, as for other forms of violence experienced by the husband is physical violence, psychological, social and economic development, while the violence experienced by the husband is the low self-esteem, shame hurt, difficult access to finance, and ostracized the family, and a reason to survive in a household husband despite experiencing violence is because children who still need a mother , husband still loves his wife, fearing the threat of wives, the consequences of his own choice and hope that one day she may change.
