- Self-esteem is the foundation for building positive human relationships, learning, creativity and a sense of personal responsibility. Self-esteem is a cement glue on the personality of an individual into a positive structure, intact and effective. Self-esteem is what determines the level of resources or the ability to process an inborn potential that realization came a desire to seem so valuable or precious. The factors that support self-esteem is feeling valued, accepted, respected and liked, while factors that inhibit self-esteem of constant punishment and the existence of unpleasant nicknames. Obesity makes one's appearance is less harmonious, less flexible and creates a feeling of lack of confidence. People who are obese often experience stress because of the emergence of various problems, either from self or from the environment, is no exception for children. They are often ridiculed and disngkirkan of the group's activities. The purpose of this research is to know the difference between self-esteem of obese children with non-obese. This research uses descriptive quantitative approach. Its population is children grade 5 and 6 Sekoloh Basic. Sampling using a purposive sampling performed in SD Mojo, Petok, Mondo and Ploso. With the number of subjects 50 people. The independent variables in this study were obese. Obesity is an individual who has a condition of his body weight more than 20% of ideal body weight. While self-esteem is the dependent variable is expressed by using a questionnaire that was taken from the theory Clemes and Bean who has measured the validity and reliability by using the formula Alfa. With the results of 0, 8369. Used in data analysis techniques Anava 1-point with the result F = 37.182 and the value of P = 0, 000 which has a significant meaning. Thus the hypothesis that read "There is a difference of self-esteem among children who are obese are not obese with" proved. It can be concluded that there are differences in self-esteem among children who are obese with a not obese. Children who are obese do not have self-esteem is higher when compared with the Mean of obese children who are not obese at 25, 84 and who are obese with a mean of 20, 48.
