Anxiety in the face of semester final exam is a feeling of uncertainty caused by the causes from outside the body about the future that occurs when individuals are facing the end of semester exams. Class grouping is a grouping that is based on the value of pure evaluation (NEM) students. The grouping of these classes result in a variety for students. If they
feel that class distinction is a pressing their demands, then they will experience anxiety. This study aims to determine the difference of anxiety in the face of semester final exam in terms of class groupings. The population in this study is the first class of students from SMU Negeri 8 Malang, amounting to 320 people. While the sample is numbered 75 people. Sample collection technique is the technique of total sampling and random sampling techniques. For the sampling technique used excellent class total sampling technique. This technique is used with the consideration that the number of population is not too much, so it is possible for researchers to use the entire population as the study sample. While the sampling technique for non-seeded class random sampling technique was used which is a sampling technique based on the probability that each sampling unit has the same chance of being selected as a sample. Data collection technique used was the anxiety scale in facing the exam. The results of this scale will be obtained data was analyzed by using t-test. Based on the results of data analysis can be seen that there are very significant differences in anxiety (t = 2.902, p = 0.005) in the face of semester final exam in terms of grouping classes (classes and class leading non-seeded) at the 1% significance level, where students that higher anxiety (= 115.84) higher than the anxiety in non-seeded grade students (= 105.65).
