  • Street children are a real phenomenon in everyday life, especially in big cities. Many see a collection of school-age children who spend most of his time roaming the streets or in other public places to work in order to meet the needs of themselves and their families. Self-esteem is achieved by the main street is derived from their success in receiving education. With this education, we hope to increase self-esteem so that they can behave well according to the norms that exist in society and education can take advantage of one of them through skills training. This study aims to determine how self-esteem of street children who have gained skills. This research is a quantitative descriptive. Population in this research is that street children have been organized in the House Shelter Foundation SPMAA Surabaya, while the sample used is 60 street children who were taken by using Puposive Sampling. Data collection instruments used were self-esteem scale. Validity test taken by road to 30 children try out the streets. Based on the analysis of the 60 items showed that there are 11 items that otherwise fall, while the 49 valid items with a value table (table r) 0.361. Self esteem scale validity indices ranged from 0.3647 to 0.5946. Analysis of the data used is by using the formula T-Score. The results of this study showed that street children who have the skills to have high self-esteem (55%) 33 children, with independence and responsibility of 61.67%, 58.33% performance, approaching new challenges 53.33%, tolerate frustration 50 %, and able to influence others 56.67%.
