- The research was done in purpose to find out the fertility of land and socio-economic of society, also for Forest Department (Perum Perhutani) by the existence of PHBM, also discussed about major plant development in PHBM area. The research was done in Ngantru village RKPH Sekar BKPH Ngantang KPH Malang. The research started in the end of July 2009 to August 2009. The tools used were writing tools, location map, camera, phi-ban, compass, clinometers, tally sheet, questionnaire sheet, christen meter, meters, rope, oven, empty bottle, scales, erlemeyer glass, pipette, measurement glass, glass column, and litmus paper. Sampling technique used was simple random sampling for the object. Subject sampling technique used systematic sampling with random start. Data collection technique consisted of primary and secondary data consisted of various operation related with PHBM. Data analysis used to analyze the plant height and diameter was descriptive analysis, while fertility analyzed using texture, structure, water rate, organic material contain, humus, and soil pH. PHBM system able to increase economic. It could be proven from b/c value > 1. People’s wealth could increase since the economic level also increased. Soil fertility similar with planted soil by using tumpangsari system and soil without tumpangsari, so that could be said that PHBM has no real influence to soil fertility.
