- Playing is the world's children. Play makes children know the world and the environment, the opportunity to learn to solve problems and develop creativity. Several types of games made by children is one of them is kind of pretend game that became the object of research. The purpose of this study is to investigate and describe the activities of pretend play in children aged 3-4 years in terms of language used, themes and role play and interaction with others, the stimulus and the object of the game, the frequency of occurrence. Data collection method is to perform observations pretend play by children aged 3-4 years and free guided interviews in the elderly subjects. While the analytical techniques used are qualitative analysis. Based on the analysis results can be concluded: 1.Kemampuan use of language children aged 3-4 years when pretend play quite communicative. This is evident from the ability to communicate with the use of a patterned sentence SPOK, although in the form of a simple ability to capture the point who wants to communicate and communicate thoughts and feelings of self to others and peers can be understood 2.Tema raised tend to be monotonous and varied. For older children, a theme raised more varied than in children whose age was younger. 3.Pemilihan role in pretend play activities related to the theme of the game is being done. The tendency of the type of social pretend play of the game is still there despite his solitary pretend play. In this stage of the game children have to be more complex. 4.Stimulasi games in general are not directly derived from the experience that has gained a child and adult activity mimics the behavior demonstrated by certain activities or movements when playing pretend. Yet there are those who are direct, ie from the initiative or imagination of the child. 5.Frekuensi emergence of pretend play of the three research subjects do not differ much. In children older then the tendency of the frequency of occurrence more.
