- Loss of spouse due to divorce, requires the presence of social adjustment. Social adjustment is an ability to adapt to other people in general and against the group in particular. This research is a qualitative descriptive study aimed to know the description of social adjustment widow caused by divorce. Research was conducted on August 10 until August 25, 2006, where research in Janti keluharan Breadfruit Malang. The subjects in this study are widowed due to divorce, as many as five people, aged 30-40 years, a maximum two-year old widow. Methods of data collection using interviews and observation. Researchers found that subjects who divorced by her husband and the menjandanya less than one year turned out to have problems of social adjustment in society. Compared with subjects who requested the divorce and menjandanya two years old, they do not have problems of social adjustment environment of the community because the subject has been more accepting of the status as a widow and the community have received its existence as a widow with time.
