- One of the fiction genre movie is a colossal epic movie. “Troy” is one of the example of epic movie. It is tell about Trojan war which based on a poem The Iliad and Odyssey by Homer. It also tells more about the heroism of Achilles (Brad Pitt) and Hector (Eric Bana). Generally, the true heroes always being honest and sincere in serve the society. However, the heroism of Achilles contain of crack in the text because he had the personal motive. The substance of this observation is the representation of heroism message of Troy movie. This observation uses the semiotic analysis method. Analysis method is used to express the meaning of heroism message of Troy movie. It is use constructive perspective with emptive text analysis to express the myth of heroes. It is also use Roland Barthes semiotic and LeviStrauss paradigmatic. Spite of the lack of Achilles, analysis result shows that the heroism messages of both actors (Achilles and Hector) is described in positive way. It illustrated on their strength, ability to fight against their enemies, their spirit of patriotism and their courageous. The heroism of Achilles is a representation of the United States (US) because include the ideology gold, gospel and glory. This movie is related to war between US and Irak because what Achilles done is similar to what US done. There is an opposite character of the heroism Achilles and Hector, i.e Paris. Paris is a faint hearted person. Appears on his lack, such as small, thin body, immature, selfish and timid.
