- Endnotes Film School is one of the film strip out of life teenagers in the school environment and their environment interact. Consumer behavior is an act of purchase or consumption of goods regardless of the form needs according to social background and region where they live. They unconsciously demanded to consume goods and services that they generally prefer the prestige than the function of the goods which they had consumed. This study itself departs from phenomenon of consumer culture in the film Endnotes School with empirical conditions Indonesian society, in which the meanings as found in the film are rarely found. The formulation of the problem in this research is how consumer culture represented by the signs that are inherent in the work of film school Endnotes Hanung Bramantyo. The aim of this research is to understand the representation consumer culture in which there are signs in the film Endnotes School. The film is a complex language that adhere to certain rules, which are determined by a diversity of signs of all kinds (montage, position, music, sound, character figures, and others - others). The film formed by the narrative techniques, which are also grouped by the possibilities of techniques that can enhance the value of reality on film. Consumer culture can be called meaning, because consumer culture is a value or behavior that exist in a person in buying or consumption of goods without seeing form appropriate to the needs of social background and region where they live. Culture consumptive as part of the awareness of industrial society heavily influenced by the symbol symbol displayed by the mass media that one of them is film the mass media. The methodology of this study using the methods of semiotic analysis of Charles Sanders Pierce attention to elements of the sign is, indices, icons, symbols and semiotic analysis of Roland Barthes through stages of denotative and connotative without prejudice to the myth that there is, for get a picture or a general sense and includes a relatively comprehensive problems studied. The research is qualitative interpretive research. Focus research is, the meaning of consumerist culture that are considered representative and also elements other visual, angles, settings, lighting and audio such as dialog, sound effects. Scope This research is Endnotes film school. Primary data in this study of film School Endnotes documented in VCD (Video Compact Disc), then VCD is played using a VCD player and observed according to the analysis used, then shot and those scenes will be cut. While secondary data obtained from books, journals, articles, and other written materials to support the completeness research data. Meaning of consumer culture in the film End of School Notes contained in the form of behavior dating or hanging out, hanging out based on the mall is the depiction of the consumer culture, where the mall is the center or a place for people to appreciate konsumtifnya behavior. Style of dress as a form of consumer culture is a depiction of the existence of a form of mass culture, where in the period certain clothing styles and even hair styles will always change. While the at the level of myth determined through the presence of ownership of an item, both in quality and scarcity of goods owned by someone. To have an item of value high, one must take action consumptive with no small cost. From analysis of the above researchers concluded consumerist culture is an act or behavior that encourages a person to satisfy his desires without seeing clearly will requirement is consumed. In this case someone would prefer the prestige than the function of goods and services that will be in consumption
