- Leader election is one of democracy application in Indonesia, starts from the smallest part up to the biggest one, it is including the class leader election to a president election. It is not always good in the process of democracy growth. Barrier must be one apart within it take for example the dispution of president election in 2009. A crash in an election in Indonesia has been being cultured. It‟s all becoming one process to mature a democracy life in indonesia. In line with it, mass media including printed or electronic version, hold a big influence and role to accompany the growth of democracy. Start from those idea and phenomenon, the writer is interesting to research how mass media,especially to the Jawa Pos and Kompas, in their way to frame and construct the dispution of president election in 2009 after the KPU declared the recapitulation result of the election. The aim of this result is to know how to constructing or framing news in the case of president election‟s dispution. This research is using intrepretative qualitative method based on framing analysis method by Zhondhang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki, toward news about dispution event of president election written on Java Pos and Kompas period 24th juli to 13th august 2009. In framing analysis, news text is not merely as a text message, but news text is seen as a text that formulated through special structure and formulation. Framing model of Zhondhang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki is assumed that every news has a frame, functioning as the center of idea organization. First, syntaxis aspect is a software which connected to the way of a reporter organizing event – statement, opinion, kutipan, and observation of an event- into a general scheme of a news. Second, script aspect is a software which connected the way how a reporter restorying the event into a form of news. Third, thematic is a software which connected the way of a reporter on how they include their perception or point of view of an event into a proposition, sentence, phrase that finally from the entire text. Forth, retorical aspect is the last software of the frame which connected the way of a reporter impress a special meaning into his news. The result of this research shows that Jawa Pos frames the dispution of those president election is one political event between politicus, on the other word can be called as “political war”. They also considered it as a not-too-important event. It can be seen from how Jawa Pos construct its text news. From the thematic point of view, Jawa Pos focused on a problem encountered between Megawati-Prabowo and Jusuf Kalla-Wiranto, continued to the retorical software. Jawa Pos do not give a big portion to this event. Kompas frames this event as a very important event that give contribution to the exploration of democracy life in Indonesia. Kompas constructs news fairly without any subjective point of view toward the political personal. That is their way to report news.
