- This research is a comparative study on Retail companies listed on the JSE under the title "Financial Ratio Analysis as a Tool To Assess the Financial Performance of Retail Companies PT.Matahari Putra Prima Tbk, during the three periods. The purpose of analysis used to determine how the financial performance PT.Matahari Putra Prima Tbk, using the method of data analysis Liquidity, Profitability, Activity, Solvency and Market and find the value of the average industrial retail companies. From the results of research during the three periods, it can be seen performance PT.Matahari Putra Prima Tbk, from 2003-2005 is not good, if viewed from the ratio of liquidity because the company is less effective in utilizing its current assets. Profitability ratios also show a figure that is less, because the resulting value is still below the industry average. Demilian also on the three other ratios. From the above conclusions the authors to imply that the company should improve overall financial performance because of some calculations the resulting ratio was found numerical values decline, firms should memepertahankan achievement of financial performance which has shown good results.
