Communities depend on forest land because of limited land outside the forest area and an increase in population that is not followed by an increase in arable land. Efforts to address land use in forest areas should be adapted to the specific conditions of the area and the socio-economic characteristics of the community. The purpose of the research is to formulate policy options that are in accordance with the conditions and problems of land use in forest areas in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency. Data and information collecting were done through interviews and literature studies descriptive analysis, text regulations analysis, logistics regression, and chi-square were used for the analysis method.&#xA0; The results showed that the community uses the forest area as arable land to fulfill their daily needs. Communities who use land in forest areas do not have management certainty so the results of plantation production in forest areas are not recorded in either the plantation or forestry agency data. Recommendations for policy options that can be applied in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency are the Agricultural Land Reform (TORA) policy option and land use amnesty.</description><description lang="id-ID">Ketiadaan lahan garapan adalah salah satu faktor terpenting yang menyebabkan konversi lahan hutan menjadi peruntukan lain, terutama lahan pertanian. Peningkatan jumlah penduduk yang tidak diikuti dengan peningkatan lahan garapan mengakibatkan masyarakat menggunakan lahan di dalam kawasan hutan. Upaya untuk mengatasi penggunaan lahan di dalam kawasan hutan sebaiknya disesuaikan dengan kondisi spesifik wilayah dan karakteristik sosial ekonomi masyarakat. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah membuat rumusan opsi kebijakan yang sesuai dengan kondisi dan permasalahan penggunaan lahan kawasan hutan di Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat. Pengumpulan data dan informasi dilakukan dengan wawancara dan pengkajian literatur. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif, analisis teks peraturan perundangan, dan regresi logistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat menggunakan kawasan hutan sebagai lahan garapan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidupnya. Masyarakat yang menggunakan lahan di dalam kawasan hutan tidak mempunyai kepastian pengelolaan sehingga hasil produksi kebun di dalam kawasan hutan tidak tercatat baik di data instansi perkebunan maupun kehutanan.
