- ABSTRACT This research was conducted to discuss the meanings, types, and reasons for using slangin Cinta Laura on Instagram Captions. The aim of the research was to know the types of slang and the reasons for using slang in this instagram captions. This research used descriptive qualitative research and collected the data from the post of Instagram users. In collecting the data, observation and documentation were used to analyzed three major phases of the data analysis, they were; data condensation, data display, and data conclusion.The data analysis was done in order to get the result of the research. The way of analyzing the data were done by the followed steps. First, category of the data by differentiated slang type based on dialogue of the slang. Second, analyzed the data by describing the setting, participants, topic, and social distance of the characters, tookthe account on captions, certain slangs were applied in Cinta Laura‟s Instagram Captions. This research found two findings, the first was the slang types. There were two types of slang employed by the Cinta Laura Instagram captions. The types of slang words was 2 public house slangs and 14 society slangs. Meanwhile, the second was the social factors of the used of slang. There were three different social factors in the Instagram captions. There were 2 to address, 9 to express impressions, 5 to initiate relaxs. It was found on Instagram caption‟s Cinta Laura of the research January until June 2020. Keywords: analysis, slang language, descriptive qualitative
