- ABSTRACT In studying foreign language, writing is one of language skills that should be mastered by the students. The students of MTs Raudlatul Muta’allimin Kasui Way Kanan have a problem in writing, especially in writing narrative text. Therefore, the researcher applied Cue Cards media, in learning writing at MTs Raudaltu Muta’allimin Kasui Way Kanan. Cue Cards is small photos or picture struck onto cards. This media is a system to help students understand their role as a writer. The objective of this research is to find out whether there is a significant influence of using Cue Cards media towards students' ability in writing narrative text at the second semester of the eighth grade of MTs Raudlatul Muta’allimin Kasui Way Kanan in the academic year of 2020/2021. The method used in this research was quasi-experimental design.The sample was taken from two classes in control and experimental class. In determining the sample of research,the researcher used cluster random sampling. The researcher used Cue Cards media for experimental class as a treatment, and Teacher-Centered for control class. The population of this research was the eighth grades students of MTs Raudlatul Muta’allimin Kasui Way Kanan. In collecting the data, the researcher used writing narrative text test. The researcher analyzed the data by using independent sample t-test. Based on the data analysis, it was obtained that sig = 0.000 and α = 0.05. It means that Ha is accepted Ho is rejected because sig < α = 0.05. In other words, it could be concluded that there was influence of using Cue Cards media towards students’ ability in writing narrative text at the second semester of the eighth grades of MTs Raudlatu Muta’allimin Kasui Way Kanan in the academic year of 2020/2021.
