- Acute respiratory tract infections more common in children under five . One of the factors that increase the incidence of respiratory infection in infants parenting parents . The purpose of the study examines parenting Parents of children under five with ARI . The study design was a descriptive cross-sectional approach . Samples were some parents who have children under five with ARI in South Krembangan PHC Surabaya . Large sample of 45 parents who were taken by means accidental . The research variables are parenting parents . Means of data collection using questionnaires . Analysis of descriptive data . The results showed parents of children under five with ARI in South Krembangan health center portion by 51 % ( 24 persons ) applying permissive parenting , as many as 10 people ( 22 % ) applying authoritarian parenting , as many as 8 people ( 18 % ) apply parenting democratic and as many as 4 people ( 9 % ) apply penelantar parenting . We recommend parents to give a very attentive parenting ( democratic ) in children . Permissive parenting is not recommended because it is too memmberikan freedom and less control in children of parents of the request or the child 's behavior .
