- Writing is a skill to express thoughts and ideas in writing. Disclosure of thoughts and ideas in writing will not succeed if it is not coherent and cohesive. One of the activities is to write essay writing narrative. Write a narrative essay contained in the High School Curriculum. So that the writer tried to carry out an analysis of the coherence and cohesiveness paragraphs in the narrative essay in class X SMA Pasundan Banjaran. This study aimed to get a description of coherence and cohesiveness paragraphs in narrative essay class X SMA Pasundan Banjaran and to determine the level of error in terms coherence and cohesiveness paragraphs in narrative essay class X SMA Pasundan Banjaran. The method used is descriptive analytical method. Based on an analysis coherence paragraph of 25 X.B grade five students obtained 15 SMA Pasundan Banjaran devices narrative coherence bouquets prepared students. Namely reps with the number of paragraphs 1 paragraph, synonyms two paragraphs, the pronoun three paragraphs, explanations smallest part to the biggest part 1 paragraph, opposition first paragraph, parallelism first paragraph, row or series three paragraphs, the pronoun and bookmark 1 pargaraf, paragraph which shows the time, when and where two paragraphs. In addition, the devices found also coherence prepared by the students. The devices are as synonyms, repetition, pronouns themselves, the smallest part to the largest part, opposition, parallelism, a series or series, pronouns and user and shows the time, time and location.
