- Asthma is one of the non-communicable diseases and the main cause of death globally, things that support the emergence of problems or complaints in patients can be caused by behavior that is not in accordance with the concept of health services. The prevalence of asthma in West Java reached 2.8%, namely 73,285 people. With the first highest case in West Java, namely Bogor Regency, while Sukabumi Regency reached 2.08% with a weight of 3,713 people and in Sukabumi City as many as 492 people. Bronchial asthma is a condition in which the airways become narrowed due to hypersensitivity to certain stimuli, which causes inflammation. Eucalyptus is a plant that is often used as an inhalation drug because it contains terpenes, porphyrin derivatives, and other phenolic compounds for pharmacological activity. Eucalyptus can be inhaled to produce local or systemic effects via inhalation by inhalation using a steam, nebulizer, or aerosol spray. This scientific paper aims to make airway clearing effective in asthmatics, the method used is a case study method, the action to be given is the application of eucalyptus aromatherapy for 5 times in 5 days. After the intervention, shortness of breath reduced with oxygen saturation from 94% to 99%. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of applying eucalyptus aromatherapy to asthmatics.
