  • Asthma symptoms that appear can be controlled with complete management, providing pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy. Non-pharmacological therapy that can be done independently is a pursed-lip breathing exercise that can improve breathing patterns, reduce shortness of breath, decrease oxygen saturation and increase peak respiratory flow. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of pursed-lip breathing exercises on ineffective breathing patterns in asthmatics. This research method uses case studies. Researchers applied pursed-lip breathing exercise for 3 days in asthmatic patients by doing a pre-test before applying PLB, then giving an intervention of pursed-lip breathing exercise for 6-30 minutes and after checking their breathing again. The results obtained after applying the pursed-lip breathing exercise from oxygen saturation are 88% to 97%. It can be concluded that pursedlip breathing exercise is effective for asthmatics.
