  • Elderly people are people aged 60 years and over. Health problems that occur in the elderly is hypertension. Hypertension is an increase in blood pressure that is more than the normal limit. Therapy to treat hypertension is pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy, non-pharmacological therapy that can be used is brisk walking exercise. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of brisk walking exercise on hypertension in the elderly. This research uses case study method. Data collection methods used are interviews, observation, and physical examination. One elderly person aged 64 years who had hypertension. The action given is brisk walking exercise for 20-30 minutes with 8 visits. The results showed a decrease in blood pressure before brisk walking 180/100 mmHg, and after 130/80 mmHg. Based on these results, it can be concluded that brisk walking exercise can help lower blood pressure.
