  • Stroke is a condition in which a blood vessel in the brain becomes blocked. The impact of a person having a stroke is experiencing weakness on some sides of the body resulting in impaired physical mobility. The purpose of this case study is to apply active ROM therapy with ball gripping to increase upper extremity muscle strength. The method in this scientific paper is a case study with the provision of active ROM therapy holding a ball. Data collection techniques were carried out by interview, observation, literature study and physical examination. The results of the intervention on Mrs. I with impaired physical mobility showed an increase in muscle strength with an initial score of 2 (0-5) to 4 (0-5) measured by MMT (Manual Muscle Testing). It can be concluded that the administration of active ROM therapy holding the ball has an effect on increasing upper extremity muscle strength in Ny.I. The application of active ROM therapy holding the ball is expected to be used as an independent intervention for nurses and patients as a non-pharmacological action in stroke patients with physical mobility problems.
