  • Auditory hallucinations are a symptom of sensory perception disorders experienced by patients with mental disorders, patients feel sensations in the form of sound, sight, taste and touch. Auditory hallucinations are stimulus disorders in which the patient hears voices talking, mocking, laughing, threatening, ordering to do something. The purpose of this study was to apply music therapy to reduce the level of auditory hallucinations. Case study research methods data collection techniques using interviews, observations, and literature studies. The results of the intervention showed a decrease in the level of hallucinations after being given music therapy for 30 minutes per day and carried out every day for 3 days with a score of 21 to 11 as measured by the AHRS (Auditory Hallucinations Rating Scale) research instrument. The conclusion of this paper is that music therapy can reduce the level of auditory hallucinations. Suggestions for nurses are expected to be able to apply music therapy independently while suggestions for patients can control auditory hallucinations properly.
