Soybean is a food commodity that is much needed by the community, both for industrial raw materials and processed products. Farmers in Cibitung District are used to cultivating soybeans with more than 6 (six) years of experience. However, from 6 (six) villages in Cibitung sub-district, only 3 (three) villages are continuously cultivating soybeans, while the other 3 (three) villages are only as a sideline. This study aims to find out how the strategy for developing soybeans as a leading commodity in Cibitung District in Sukabumi Regency. The research method used in the form of surveys, field observations and interviews. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling with the criteria of soybean farmers from group administrators and farmer group members in Cibitung District, soybean entrepreneurs, and bureaucrats (local government) which then obtained 75 respondents. The analytical technique used is SWOT analysis based on the approach of 8 (eight) superior criteria indicators, which are then carried out by internal factor analysis (IFAS) and external factor analysis (EFAS). The results of the SWOT analysis show that the strategy for developing soybeans as a leading commodity in Cibitung District in Sukabumi Regency is increasing cooperation in soybean marketing through partnerships, increasing soybean production through the application of rice/soybean-soybean-soybean cropping patterns and or adding new planting areas, increasing productivity. soybeans through the application of appropriate technology according to specific locations as well as facilitating the growth of seed breeders, strengthening of extension institutions and farmer institutions.
