  • This study aims to identify and to explain the application of jargon in the context of hotel. The paper analyzes the form, meaning, and function of hotel jargon used by employees of Quest Hotel Cikarang in chatting Whatsapp group. The findings hope to prove that jargon is a words or phrases used by a particular profession of a group of people that aims to facilitate communication or as a secret code so that someone who is not involved in the group cannot understand. The method which is used is qualitative descriptive. Meanwhile, data analysis is done by identifying, analyzing, and classifying the findings based on the form, meaning, and function of jargon. The research, then, results 4 forms of jargon found from the data, they are (1) acronym, (2) abbreviation, (3) word, and (4) phrase. In addition, the writer also found two meanings of jargon, namely denotative meaning and connotative meaning. And finally, the writer divides it into two functions of jargon.
