This type of research uses descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of the study were 28 students in grade IV A SDN Lembursitu, Sukabumi City. Data collection techniques were carried out with online-based documentation and interviews conducted in depth to IV class A and 6 research subjects consisting of 2 highly capable subjects, 2 moderate ability subjects, and 2 low ability subjects. Based on the results obtained that the level of understanding of students' mathematical concepts are at different levels. Students have not been able to use mathematical concepts well in solving problems related to open ended problems. In addition, students tend not to be able to present alternative answers to the problems given.
