- The study aims to describe students interpersonal communication skills in the learning process and how the students interpersonal communication skills are played in the learning process. Qualitative-descriptive methods are used as methods for obtaining information on students interpersonal communication skills and their role in the learning process. In this study, data sources used as many as two teachers in Negeri 1 Selabintana Elementary School. Data retrieval was conducted with interviews directly through the WhattsApp app on 06-11 July 2020. Type of structured interview with a list of questions based on research indicators. Data analysis techniques using the Miles & Huberman model are: data reduction, data presentation, and withdrawal of conclusions. The results of this study are behaviors, attitudes, student communication, supporting factors and the inhibitory of student communication, self-confidence, firm, bold, and empathy, the role of teachers in controlling the classroom. The role of interpersonal communication skills in learning creates a conducive learning environment, students play an active role during learning, increasing the maximum student learning outcomes.
